About The Host

Daniel Roberts is a local Realtor and team leader of The Joyful Roberts Group, a local family-run real estate team. He is also a Board Member of the Newberg Noon Rotary Foundation, Ambassador for the Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce, City Club member, and Volunteer at Love INC. Daniel graduated from George Fox University in 2015 and lives in Newberg with his Family. Daniel has been featured in the Newberg Graphic, the Newberg Community Advantage, and at several local service clubs. In 2023, Daniel was selected by Pamplin Media to be Newberg’s “Amazing Neighbor of the Year.”

Daniel also has the Living in Newberg YouTube channel which highlights the city of Newberg as a whole.

The Giving Town Story

In 2018, shortly after Daniel started his real estate career, Daniel wanted to highlight the nonprofits in his community. Daniel eventually started his podcast after being encouraged by a friend and he called it “The Elpis Project.” (Elpis is the greek word for hope).

After returning to Newberg in 2019, Daniel took a break from the podcast with plans to rebrand it under a Newberg theme. The podcast was rebranded in 2022 as The Giving Town Podcast with the mission to share stories of hope and generosity in Newberg and the surrounding area.

Daniel now interviews local nonprofits and other community members who are making a positive impact on the town. Daniel also highlights community leaders who work behind the scenes to help the Newberg community function.

There will always be a choice when it comes to what we focus on. We can focus on the good or focus on the bad. The Giving Town podcast is one more opportunity for people to focus on the good.
